Pet Care
Health Insurance – Is it Worth It?
There are several reasons why you should consider buying pet health care insurance for your dog,
cat, bird or any other type of pet you may have. You likely have some form of health insurance for yourself,
so why not a pet? Usually, the most important concern is that you love and care for your pet and want the
best for them and to stay healthy. Pet Insurance is one of the best ways to provide for them.
Your pet may become sick one day and you may end up taking them to a local veterinary clinic to
determine what the problem is and how to fix it. After the diagnosis, you are presented with a potential bill
of several hundreds or even thousands of dollars to resolve a hip fracture, diabetes, seizures, cancer or
thyroid disease. What will you do?
Would you decide to put your pet down, or do everything possible to keep your friend alive?
If you did not have pet insurance for your dog, cat or bird, then you will have to consider paying this out
of your pocket. No one wants to do this and even if you must, it will still cost some money.
This is where it becomes difficult for almost every pet lover to decide what to do. Perhaps you
can afford the veterinary bills that can be thousand of dollars, but most people cannot. This is why pet
insurance for you dog, cat, bird or any exotic pet becomes very important. It can literally end up saving
your pet’s life.
Pet Health Insurance – Care for your Pet and
Save Money
The idea of insuring a pet in any way was previously considered to be at best a joke, but over
the recent years it has become more than credible. The rising costs of veterinary fees prove this. No one
wants to pay a bill to a vet that amounts to thousands of dollars.
In fact, pet insurance is one of most frequent types of insurance claims made, and the premiums
are small and very affordable. But even though this may amount to less than a few dollars a day, what do you
get for your payments?
Your cat could have a renal problem that requires surgery and you were given an estimate of at
least $1,000 to perform surgery. Or your dog may have been injured and require hip surgery. The veterinarians
may tell you that this will cost $3,000 in order to resolve the problem.
However, if you had already signed up for dog insurance, cat insurance or for any other
particular pet, you would know that by spending a small amount of money now could save you thousands of
dollars.
Currently your pet is in perfect health but could you say with certainty the same about
tomorrow? Health insurance for your pet acts as a safety net in the unfortunate event that your pet has some
medical problem.
With most pet insurance plans costing as low as $15 USD per month or less, and considering the
increasing costs of veterinary care, getting affordable pet insurance is really a non-issue. Even if you at
best only tolerate your pet, you can still save money by investing in a pet care health insurance
program.
